This is the entrance of the Hotel George. Once it was the best hotel in town but now only the fascade remains to remind us of its former splendour. In the beginning of the 19th century, the Hotel Russa was here in which French author Balzak spent part of his honeymoon with the Polish countess Evelyn Ganska. Here you can see more of the building.
It was built at the very beginning of the 20th century. It has survived all the cataclisms without being ruined. Even the interior remains as it was over 80 years ago. This is a general view of Halytsky Square and the Bernardine Church as seen from opposite the Hotel George.
